Feel-good

Sometimes, we feel good after meeting somebody. While, sometimes, we feel quite bad. I often wonder as to why it so happens? Sometimes, we have heard so many negative things about somebody and yet when we meet that person, there are positive vibrations. What do these positive vibrations mean and where do they come from?

Probably, these positive vibrations come with the connection established at the level of our true selves. We all are pure consciousness, that manifests in different forms quite differently. Astrologically, we are all made of 9 forces. There are three causal forces comprising the Moon, Sun, and Saturn that represent the Saatvik, Rajasik, and Tamasik forces respectively. Similarly, there are three astral forces viz Jupiter, Mars, and Venus that represent the Saatvik, Rajasik, and Tamasik forces respectively. Then there are three mental forces comprising Mercury, Rahu, and Ketu that represent the Saatvik, Rajasik, and Tamasik forces respectively. Each horoscope comprises 12 houses that represent different aspects of life such as health, family, education, etc. Each one of us has a unique horoscope. For example, somebody's 1st house, the house of personality may be ruled by Mars, and such a person may have a very energetic disposition. On the other hand, somebody's 1st house may be ruled by Jupiter and therefore his personality may be quite knowledge-oriented.

Different people have different ascendents and accordingly, their different houses are ruled by different planets. Some of the planets are exalted, and therefore strong, while some are debilitated and therefore weak. Some are placed in a friendly place, while some are placed in the houses of the enemy. Some are afflicted, while others do not have any affliction. Some are retrograde, while some are directional. There are so many combinations and permutations, and that is why each horoscope is unique. In addition to this, everybody passes through different Dashas and in the Dasha of a particular force of nature, that force of nature plays a crucial role in our life.

The forces of nature, as reflected in the horoscope, keep influencing our minds and bodies. It appears to me that all our thoughts are directly affected by the dashas that we undergo. Somebody may argue that there is free will, and the counter-argument may be that what appears to be free will is also a creation of the forces of nature. Somebody may say that he has the free will to decide what food to order in the restaurant, while in reality, his decision to order the food will always be affected by his food preferences which is always a result of social conditioning. Even if somebody orders food contrary to one's social conditioning, the decision to stay away from social conditioning is also a result of some experience that made such person be a rebel against the past conditioning.

It appears to me that when we meet a person, we may feel good if somehow the forces of nature that are acting on that person are friendly to the forces of nature that are acting upon us. On the other hand, if we are under the influence of contrary forces, we are likely to feel negative vibes. That may be due to the alignment of the forces of nature at the time of our birth or the dasha that we are undergoing presently. That may be one of the reasons why we get positive vibes from a person at a certain time, while when we interact at a different time, we get negative vibes.

Does that mean that there is no free will and our behavior is completely dependent on the forces of nature acting within us, as represented by the horoscope? To the best of my understanding, all the forces of nature are the manifestation of the same consciousness. The moment, we become aware of this fact, and live our lives with that awareness, there is no question of good vibes or bad vibes. All the vibes are just manifestations of the same consciousness. Love and compassion are the fundamental nature of consciousness because consciousness is one and there is no division within that. There is nothing like your and my consciousness. Consciousness is like the Higgs field that gives birth to bosons and fermions, which in turn give birth to matter and energy. When somebody becomes aware of that oneness, naturally one loves and has compassion for everybody. That awareness develops an attitude of witnessing the manifestation of the 9 forces of nature within ourselves and others. When we witness that interplay, we do not react, rather we just observe. There are no good or bad vibes because such a division between good and bad cease to exist and there are people who are aware and not aware. As soon as a person becomes aware, he will just try to help everyone around to be aware. A lamp does not hate darkness, but darkness naturally disappears wherever a lamp goes. Similarly, whenever and wherever an aware person goes, darkness in and around disappears. However, if someone closes himself, like Duryodhana, he may end up fighting the battle against the Divine himself.

A "home" decorated with "bonsai"

Somebody gifted a plant sometime back. When I look at the plant on the Table, it appears to me as if the plant had the potential to grow into a big tree, but we confined the little plant within the limits of the pot, and it has grown strangely. It has a thick stem but has small leaves and branches. We have designed the plants to look the way we like. What "I" want is more important than what the "plant" is. The plant will grow the way "I" like it to grow. And then, "I" would also claim that "I" love the plant.  Yesterday, I went to a coaching institute to get some test series for a competitive exam for my daughter. The guide there spoke for around 40-45 minutes on the risks and chances of getting selected in different competitive examinations. So much competition. Fear is instilled into the minds of the students from the very beginning. Everything is around fear. If they are not able to get enrolment in a professional course , they wi...

Kurukshetra Within Ourselves

I watched the Netflix series Kurukshetra today. It's a wonderfully made series and, in fact, made me recall my childhood series of the Mahabharata that used to be telecast on DD. Mahabharata is magical. The most magical thing about the Mahabharata is that it has no straitjacket definition of Dharma . The entire battle of Kurukshetra is for Dharma, and everybody feels that he is fighting the battle for Dharma.  When Bhishma realises that Vichitravirya needs to be married, he goes to the Swamvara of Amba, Ambika, and Ambalika and forcefully brings them to Hastinapur . Ambika and Ambalika are married to Vichitravirya, while Amba carries out penance to take revenge on Bhishma. Why did Bhishma bring these three girls against their wishes to Hastinapur? If Vichitravirya wanted to marry, he should have shown courage and participated in the Swamvara. After all, Swamvara meant that the girls wanted to marry the most courageous person. Bhishma deprived them of their rights for his attac...

Is Life all about conforming to the standards?

All of us participate in many meaningless events. Sometimes such meaningless events are organised in the offices, and sometimes in society. We understand that it is a sheer wastage of time and an ugly demonstration of our own lack of character and integrity, and yet we participate in these events. Why? Because we lack the courage and conviction to stand. Why don't we have the courage to stand? Because we are full of fears. Some people are so consumed by fear that they participate in and even glorify these meaningless events. Some will participate and justify them. Some will criticise them and yet participate.  I have seen so many people murmuring that they do not wish to attend the marriage functions , but they have to. It is because they also wish for the presence of a crowd when their kids get married. They consider it to be prestigious. What is prestige? Is it about the numbers attending the party thrown by us? No. If so, let us organise a Bhandara , and there will be thousands ...
