Watched the Netflix movie "Three of Us". It was quite a profound movie. A movie about a dementia patient who goes back to her village to meet old friends and relive her childhood. She has a happily married life with a son who has passed out of IIT and her husband is doing well. But going back to the village and meeting old friends does something wonderful for her. She meets her childhood best friend and that brings happiness back to her face.
It handled childhood love and guilt. However, a scene I really liked from the movie was where the lead actor is sitting with her childhood friend in a giant wheel and the wheel stops at the top and she says that this is a place where I wanted to be. Probably, the whole of our life we keep moving with the giant wheel of life. There is hardly any occasion when the wheel stops and we live life. Suddenly, we grow old and it is time to leave the world and go. We realize that we have never lived life except for the few moments when the wheel stopped for a few moments and we enjoyed the company of a good friend.
I really don't know why we do not gather the courage to come out of the wheel hold the hand of a dear friend and walk down to the sea. Sit there and have uninterrupted conversations about life. Where the heart talks to the heart unadulterated by fears, insecurities, and ambitions. Where there is no restriction on the freedom. There is a naked purity unadulterated by the worldly manners. Where there is no You and I. Every conversation is coming from a single source and two brains are just two different radio sets receiving the same divine frequency.
However, the giant wheel of life looks attractive and we get into the wheel tempted by that attraction and get trapped. Now it is not in our hands where when and how long will the wheel stop. Once trapped, it takes a lot of courage to come out of that. Most of the time, the wheel moves so fast that we almost forget all memories of how life looks outside the wheel.
The most memorable experiences of life never come from the routine. Yet we give so much significance to the routine. Probably our connection to our soul is not so strong to hold on to life. The fears, insecurities, and ambitions take over and we get into the giant wheel, sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously. We defer living life to earn money and properties, and get positions and promotions; unable to realize that once we get into the giant wheel, we never know when will we be able to get out of the wheel.
